to find him at Duke De’s residence." Yun Muhuan ignored Yun Qianyue's anger."Then can I go and ride a horse myself" Yun Qianyue clenched her teeth. Dead Ye Qingran, if you couldn't take up your post o...Chapter 15: Final Judgment
Rong Jing raised his eyebrows when he heard this, but didn't say anything.
Yun Qianyue chuckled and leaned in close to Yu Zishu, putting her arm around his shoulder. She said coquettishly, "Brother ZiShu, you're such a good guy, I don't want you to leave. What should I do Should I go with you to the East Sea too It's so smoggy here."
"Alright!" Yu Zishu smiled at her.
Rong Jing reached out and gently pulled Yun Qianyue from Yu Zishu's shoulder into his arms. He said to Yu Zishu, "Prince Yu, you should go now! If it gets any later, the Sixth Princess can't go with you to the East Sea. Who knows if another princess will chase after you. Even if you don’t want to enjoy this beauty’s favor, it still causes trouble."
"That's exactly right!" Yu Zishu nodded smilingly and mounted his horse.
Yun Qianyue glared at Rong Jing and waved her hand at Yu Zishu. "Remember to write me monthly letters."
"Alright!" After looking at Rong Jing and Yun Qianyue, Yu Zishu said to Rong Feng, “Prince Feng, it's time for us to part ways!”
“Goodbye, Prince Yu!” Rong Feng bowed.
Yu Zishu didn't stay any longer. He kicked his horse into a gallop and left the Ten Mile Farewell Pavilion.
Yun Qianyue watched as Yu Zishu and his horse disappeared in the distance, her eyes stinging with tears. She forced herself to keep them open until she could no longer see anything but a small black dot, but even then didn't want to look away. The cold wind made her eyes hurt.
Rong Jing covered her eyes gently and said softly, "Don’t look anymore, he has already gone! You won’t be able to see him if you keep looking."
"I know that, but I still can't bear it," Yun Qianyue blinked a few times, her eyes wet.
“Yun Qianyue, are you trying to make me jealous on purpose” Rong Jing asked softly.
Yun Qianyue waved his hand away and glared at him. "Let's go back! I didn’t sleep all night and I’m exhausted."
"I thought you wouldn't want to leave this farewell pavilion, and that you’d stay here for a day," Rong Jing smiled.
"Who would willingly spend the cold winter days outside There must be something wrong with them," Yun Qianyue said. She turned to Rong Feng and waved him over. "Prince Feng, let's go back!"
Rong Feng nodded and mounted his horse.
Yun Qianyue was pulled by Rong Jing towards the carriage.
Once in the carriage, Yun Qianyue automatically leaned on Rong Jing’s leg like a pillow and closed her eyes as she lay down.
Rong Jing covered her with a quilt and watched her for a moment. When he saw that she was really about to fall asleep, he said softly, "You’re not truly sad over Prince Yu leaving; if he saw you like this, he would be heartbroken. How can there be women like you who are crying one minute but want to sleep the next."
Yun Qianyue sniffed through her nose and said, "I’ll just act a little emotional for now, I can’t stay emotional forever," she added, “If I really cried my eyes out, wouldn't you be jealous to death”
"I’m almost jealous to death," Rong Jing looked at her. "Yun Qianyue, where is my clothes"
“Not made yet!” Yun Qianyue yawned.
"I need to wear them tomorrow," Rong Jing said sternly.
"I’m sleeping today, how can I make them by tomorrow" Yun Qianyue was already so tired that she couldn’t keep her eyes open.
“It doesn’t matter! If you don't give me the clothes tomorrow, I won’t let you see Yuxue Flying Dragon,” Rong Jing said.
Yun Qianyue's eyelids fluttered but she was too tired to keep her eyes open. She ignored him completely.
"Hey, did you hear me" Rong Jing reached out and pushed her.
Yun Qianyue’s body shook a little, but she didn’t say anything.
Rong Jing pushed her again this time with more force.
"I've heard! Mr. Rong, please have mercy and let me sleep!" Yun Qianyue was helpless.
Rong Jing accomplished his goal, curled the corners of his mouth up a little, lowered his hand, and said in a gentle tone, "Alright, you can sleep then! After you wake up, make the clothes."
Yun Qianyue grunted and fell asleep.
The carriage headed toward the city gate. Outside, Rong Feng smiled as he heard their conversation inside the carriage.
The journey back was silent until they reached the city gate.
The crowd that had gathered at the gate earlier had already dispersed. Only Minister Wen Lai of the Imperial Palace and a young eunuch were waiting there. Upon seeing Rong Jing's carriage returning, Wen Lai hurriedly said respectfully, "Young Prince Jing, the Regent ordered me to wait for you here. He says that now that the grand funeral rites for His Late Majesty are over, it’s time to prepare for the elaborate burial of the Second Prince. Please go straight to the palace after entering the city to discuss this with him."
"Alright!" Rong Jing replied calmly.
"Young Prince Feng, the Regent also invited you to the palace. He said that he hasn’t attended court in several days and all officials are discussing matters in the Golden Hall," Wen Lai added.
"Alright!" Rong Feng nodded.
Wen Lai fell silent after conveying his messages, got into a carriage, and headed towards the Imperial Palace.
Rong Jing instructed Xian Ge to take Yun Qianyue to Cloud Manor first while Rong Feng returned home to change into court attire.
The carriage arrived at the entrance of Cloud Manor. Rong Jing woke up Yun Qianyue, who opened her eyes, glanced drowsily at him, and then closed them again. Amused by her, Rong Jing could only carry her off the carriage and back to Yulan Pavilion.
Although news about Rong Jing's romance with Yun Qianyue was already old, the people of Cloud Manor had gotten used to seeing them entering and exiting together. However, they were still chattering privately over Rong Jing carrying Yun Qianyue back to Yulan Pavilion.
Afeter dropping off Yun Qianyue in her room, Rong Jing left the room, got into a carriage, and headed towards the Imperial Palace.
The moment Rong Jing left, Yun Qianyue immediately opened her eyes, stretched lazily, and sat up.
"Miss Aren’t you going to sleep" Ling Lian and Yi Xue looked at Yun Qianyue in surprise. She didn't seem tired at all
"No sleep!" Yun Qianyue shook her head and instructed them, "Take out the clothes that I’ve partially made for him as well as the sachet that I left unfinished a while back. Now is when I’ll finish making everything."
"Miss, you've been working all night long. This isn’t urgent," Ling Lian objected immediately upon hearing this.
"Yes, there’s no rush since it's for Young Prince Jing," Yi Xue quickly added.
"Who says it’s not urgent He must be dying of impatience by now." Yun Qianyue shook her head and waved at them. "Bring everything out. I can handle this little task. If I were to sleep today, I might have to attend Prince Nigth Tianqin's funeral tomorrow, which means I wouldn’t have time to work on these."
The two exchanged a glance and seeing that Yun Qianyue was still in good spirits, turned around to fetch the items.
Yun Qianyue picked up the clothes first and continued from where she left off sewing. This robe for Rong Jing was slightly more intricate compared to the one for Jade Zishu, so naturally it would take longer to complete. However, Yun Qianyue had grown proficient at hand-sewing in ancient times, which made her work proceed much faster.
By midday, the robe was completed amidst Ling Lian and Yi Xue's admiration.
After lunch, she started embroidering the sachet. Since Rong Jing had left it aside when he quarreled with Yun Qianyue several months ago after Night Tianyi returned to the capital, she had been too busy with various matters to pick up her work again and didn’t dare inform him about its unfinished status. Naturally, reuniting the threads and finishing off would consume a lot of effort.
The sachet was double-sided embroidery featuring mandarin ducks playing in water on one side and red peach blossoms on the other. It was certainly more challenging than making clothes by several folds. As such, the last half of this task took much longer.
In the afternoon, Jade Qingqing came to Yulan Pavilion and saw Yun Qianyue holding the sachet. She first scrutinized both sides of the sachet carefully before examining Yun Qianyue from head to toe. Only then did she sit down with a sigh.
"Why are you sighing" Yun Qianyue glanced at her in passing.
"It's hard to keep grown-up girls at home!" Jade Qingqing said sadly.
Yun Qianyue scolded her, "How can you say that Didn’t you have the same issue when you were my age"
Hearing this, Jade Qingqing dryly laughed and turned to Yun Qianyue, "Moonie, please teach Mama how to do double-sided embroidery. Over these years, she has only learned how to make clothes but hasn’t mastered sachet embroidery."
"No!" Yun Qianyue shook her head.
"I taught you how to make clothes!" Yu Qingqing glared.
"This one I won't teach anyone else. Only Rong Jing is allowed to wear it. There's only the Yun Qianyue family in the world, no branches or franchises." Yun Qianyue said proudly.
"You ungrateful little brat! Your mother will make sachets for your father," Yu Qingqing pointed at Yun Qianyue's forehead with her finger.
"That won't do. Family rules dictate that the husband comes first, followed by one’s father." Yun Qianyue said.
Yu Qingqing was exasperated. "Aren’t you ashamed You haven’t even married yet and are already calling someone your husband"
"He will be my husband sooner or later; I might as well start exercising my rights," Yun Qianyue said without shame.
Yu Qingqing glared at her, but after glaring for a long time she conceded defeat and compromised: "I won’t learn this double-sided embroidery technique from you then. Just teach me the regular one."
"Ling Lian, do you know regular embroidery" Yun Qianyue asked Ling Lian without even looking up.
“Yes, I do!” Ling Lian replied.
“Okay then. Leave her to you and teach her,” Yun Qianyue pushed Yu Qingqing in the direction of Ling Lian with her hand. “You two go learn elsewhere; don’t get in my way here.”
Yu Qingqing stood up, glared at Yun Qianyue, and said angrily: "Stinking brat!"
"Go to my room, My Lady," Ling Lian snickered as she led the way out of the door.
Yu Qingqing nodded her head in agreement and followed behind Ling Lian.
The room fell silent again. Yun Qianyue busied herself threading needles and tying knots with her fingers, not wasting a single moment.
In the evening, she finally completed the long-overdue mandarin duck sachet that had been on hold for months. Her ten fingers felt numb afterwards as if they were wooden; tossing it aside, she lay down on the soft couch and muttered: “Being an obedient wife and a good mother is truly not something humans are made for.”
Outside in the courtyard, footsteps approached gracefully, as though walking to the beat of time. This was Rong Jing’s usual manner.
Yun Qianyue could barely muster any strength and even looking up felt strenuous; she found this kind of work truly wasn’t meant for humans and vowed never to rashly agree to such tasks from him again, as it would only exhaust her in the end.
"Young Lord Rong!" Ling Lian and Yi Xue called out greetings from outside the courtyard.
Rong Jing replied with a short “hm,” then stepped lightly into the room. He had just arrived at the doorway when, even though it was dark outside, he immediately saw the sachet on the couch. His steps paused slightly; turning his gaze away, he looked over at Yun Qianyue. Seeing her lying down on the couch in a shrimp-like position and looking utterly exhausted from all angles, he frowned slightly and stepped inside.
When Rong Jing arrived beside Yun Qianyue, he picked up the sachet with his hand, carefully examining both sides of it before saying satisfactorily: “Hmm, not bad. It’s good that I’ve been fretting over this for months; you didn’t disappoint me.”
Yun Qianyue rolled her eyes. "Sir Rong, is the sachet all you see Don’t you notice there’s a living person here on the verge of collapse"
Rong Jing tied the sachet to his waist and said without looking up: “This is a lesson for you: if you have something to do, start early. Last-minute cramming will naturally be exhausting; next time remember to start earlier or take it slow so that you won’t feel so tired.”
Yun Qianyue glared at him and said: "You see me in such a state of exhaustion, aren’t you supposed to pick me up and comfort me with words full of guilt and tenderness like ‘I’m sorry for troubling you; I didn’t know it was so urgent’"
Rong Jing looked over at Yun Qianyue. “Then would that still be me”
Yun Qianyue lost all spirit, closed her eyes and turned away from him, accusing: "Sir Rong, you should wear the peach blossoms on the outside; now wearing the mandarin ducks on your waist means everyone tomorrow will think you have special preferences"
"Not to worry. It’s good for everyone to know how eager I am to marry you," Rong Jing said slowly and leisurely.
Yun Qianyue was speechless at this.
"What about the clothes" Rong Jing asked again.
“They were put away in a dresser by Ling Lian. You get them yourself!” Yun Qianyue said irritably.
Rong Jing indeed turned around and walked to the dresser; opening it, he saw that the moon-white robe had been neatly folded on top of everything else. He reached out and took it out, spreading it open for a look before dispassionately taking off his present clothes and slowly putting on the new ones.
Yun Qianyue opened her eyes to watch him; he moved so gracefully that she couldn’t help but be awed. She pursed her lips as she stared at him, marveling inwardly: Indeed, people rely on their attire, and buddhas need golden embellishments. Rong Jing was already exceptionally handsome, elegant and refined; with this moon-white robe she had altered for him, he now appeared to have an additional layer of luminous halo, brilliant enough to light up the sun and moon. How could such a man go out Wouldn’t all the city’s peaches be falling over themselves trying to get close to him She immediately regretted making these clothes for him and shouted: "Take them off! Take them off!
With the last button of his robe fastened and jade belt secured, Rong Jing raised an eyebrow and asked, "Why"
"It's too eye-catching! It can't be worn," Yun Qianyue said.
"Did you also make Prince Yu take it off when he wore it" Rong Jing challenged with a lifted brow.
"Of course not He’s not from my family, and if he attracts too much attention, he might harm women all over the world. But you’re different; you belong to me, so I must strictly control your桃花 (literally "peach blossoms", meaning romantic entanglements).
At this, Rong Jing suddenly smiled, his fair face radiant as it outshone the clouds and sun.
"Hurry up and take it off!" Yun Qianyue urged him with a serious expression.
Rong Jing walked to the mirror and took a look. After a moment, he turned around and came back to where Yun Qianyue was standing. He shook his head at her and said softly, "Yun Qianyue, it’s not scary to attract attention. Those bees and butterflies can see but cannot reach you. Only you can both see and obtain what they want, proving that you’re the most capable one, isn’t it"
Yun Qianyue nodded in agreement, saying, "That is true!"
"Therefore, not only will I continue to wear this robe, but from now on, all clothes must be yours," Rong Jing concluded.
"But it’s still too eye-catching and invites too much桃花 (romantic entanglements)," Yun Qianyue said while staring at Rong Jing, carefully weighing the pros and cons.
"In the future, you’ll always be by my side. I go where you follow, leaving no gaps for those bees and butterflies to exploit. Moreover, who in this world would dare to snatch a man from Yun Qianyue of Cloud Manor Don’t they want to live" Rong Jing sat down and said slowly.
Yun Qianyue laughed aloud, looking at him with a mix of speechlessness: "Mr. Rong, where are your moral principles"
Rong Jing didn't answer but reached out to hold her hand, gently massaging it in his palm.
"Hmm, I guess you do have some conscience for my hands," Yun Qianyue mumbled as she leaned against him and closed her eyes. She then instructed him: "I don’t just have sore hands; my shoulders hurt too, as does my waist, legs, and feet..."
Rong Jing chuckled softly, his voice gentle and warm, saying, "Alright, I’ll massage everything for you."
"That’s much better!" Yun Qianyue sighed contentedly.
On this night, Yun Qianyue enjoyed a full body treatment from Rong Jing. After dinner, she went to meet Zhou Gong (a mythical figure who is said to teach people about the art of government and governance) in her dreams comfortably.
Rong Jing sat by the bed watching her as he held a sachet and looked at it for some time. He then walked around the room wearing his new robe before lying down again, still smiling even after closing his eyes, revealing how pleased he was.
The next morning, when Yun Qianyue woke up, she saw Rong Jing dressed properly as he sat by the table sorting through confidential documents.
Yun Qianyue stared at him; the early morning light streamed into the room but seemed to be absorbed entirely by the person sitting by the bed. His noble and regal appearance was unparalleled, like jade without equal. At this moment, his head was slightly lowered as he wrote something on a confidential document with his jade-like hand, the only sound in the room being the scratching of the brush against paper.
Yun Qianyue couldn’t take her eyes off him; she thought that if she could see such a scene every morning upon waking up, she’d be willing to spend an entire lifetime or even ten lifetimes looking at it without ever feeling bored. There are some people who are naturally so captivating that no matter where or when, they draw one’s gaze and make them forget themselves.
"You’re awake" Rong Jing asked in a clear voice.
Yun Qianyue nodded silently without tearing her eyes away from him.
"Now that you’re up, get ready. Yesterday, the Regent had an imperial conference with other officials and decided to give Prince Second a proper burial today. His coffin has been in his manor this whole time; it will still be handled by the Ministry of Rites but without as much ceremony. Most officials will attend voluntarily. But I believe you’ll go too. The timing is just right now, or the funeral procession would have already left the city gates. You’ve already held a memorial service for him at Lingtai Temple, so it’s best to pay your respects at his manor today without leaving the city," Rong Jing said in a soft voice.
Yun Qianyue thought that her guess from yesterday was correct; Night Tianyi had hastily arranged Prince Second's burial this morning. She nodded and got out of bed to get ready after pulling back the covers.
Rong Jing continued sorting through his documents.
After Yun Qianyue finished getting dressed, Mama Zhao brought her breakfast; Rong Jing had completed the last confidential document and instructed Qing Ying to take them away. The two of them then sat down at the table.
After finishing their meal, they left Yun Yue Hall together.
In front of Cloud Manor were parked two carriages: one was Rong Jing's all-black carriage, while the other was Yun Qianyue’s seldom-used one.
Yun Qianyue tilted her head towards Rong Jing; he explained to her, "You go to Prince Second’s manor alone. I need to enter the palace! Even though it's a grand funeral, according to the Regent's order, no officials above third rank are allowed to see him off."
Yun Qianyue nodded and walked towards her carriage.
The curtains of the two carriages fell down, and they left the Cloud Prince Manor together. One headed to the palace while the other went to the Second Prince's residence.
The distance between the Cloud Prince Manor and the Second Prince's residence was not far. In no time, they arrived at their destination.
Cloud Qianyue lifted the curtain and got off the carriage. She saw only a few people standing sparsely in front of the Second Prince’s residence, with just several carriages around as well. The place appeared quiet and still without any sounds coming out from inside. She gently jumped down and thought to herself that although Night Tianyi had ordered a grand funeral and invited officials below the rank of third grade to attend the ceremony, would there really be anyone who dared to come It was no longer Prince Night Tianqiong's time but rather the era of Regent King Night Tianyi.
Thinking about how glorious Prince Night Tianqiong and his prince residence used to be compared to their current state that had become desolate just after his passing, a sense of melancholy arose in her heart.
"I pay my respects to Miss Qianyue!" The steward of the Second Prince’s residence stepped forward and greeted Cloud Qianyue.
"I came here for the memorial service," said Cloud Qianyue.
"Please follow me!" The steward led her in, walking quietly beside her. "I knew you would come, so I have been waiting here for you. The Second Prince told me on that day before he went to the palace that if he died and was buried in a pit or wrapped in a straw mat, the first shovel of earth should be yours. Even if his body was pulled away by five horses, he wanted me to ask you personally to do so. Now that Regent King has ordered a grand funeral for him, it’s fortunate that there is a coffin available; would you please seal it"
Cloud Qianyue paused in her steps but continued walking forward and nodded in agreement, “Sure, I’ll seal his coffin.”
The steward no longer spoke as he led Cloud Qianyue into the residence.
A tent had been set up outside the main hall of the palace. Inside was a casket made from mediocre material that was already considered the best outcome for a prince who rebelled against his father. In front of the tent stood a woman with her back to them, burning paper offerings in an urn.
Cloud Qianyue recognized this as Qin Yuning and raised her eyebrows.
The steward lowered his voice with some resentment as he said, "Miss Qin arrived very early and has been standing here for two hours already. When I asked her to leave, she said that she had received orders from Regent King."
Cloud Qianyue nodded and continued walking forward until she reached behind Qin Yuning. She stopped and looked at the tent without speaking.
Qin Yuning seemed unaware of Cloud Qianyue's presence, never turning around to see her.
The area in front of the tent was quiet as the servants from the Second Prince’s residence observed both women but did not speak. They had once detested Miss Shallow Moon while serving under Prince Night Tianqiong and thought that she wasn't even a fraction of what Miss Qin was like, yet it hadn’t taken them six months to completely reverse their opinions.
After throwing the last piece of paper into the urn, Qin Yuning slowly turned around. She looked at Cloud Qianyue with a gentle tone and said, "Cloud Shallow Moon, he wouldn't have died if not for you; I would never kill him if he truly loved me instead of you."
Cloud Qianyue raised her eyebrows, "Then are you implying that without me, you wouldn’t follow the Seventh Prince’s orders"
Qin Yuning pursed her lips and said with a heavy tone, “At least I would not have let him die.”
Cloud Qianyue chuckled calmly as she looked at Qin Yuning. Seeing her haggard appearance, the rumors circulating on the streets over these two days had truly weighed heavily on her. Did she never expect that killing Prince Night Tianqiong would make her look like a heartless woman who was ungrateful and merciless She said coolly, "Miss Qin, there's no such thing as a free lunch in this world; everything comes with a price. Therefore, some things should be carefully thought through before acting on them. What you consider the best outcome may not necessarily be so."
Qin Yuning stared at Cloud Qianyue and suddenly laughed after a while. "Miss Shallow Moon always lectures people in such an eloquent way. Although you’ve done more wrong than anyone else, no one can refute your words. Even though Prince Night Tianqiong detested you for ten years, he eventually fell victim to his own feelings, allowing himself to be ensnared by you and growing used to the idea of being pursued."
Cloud Qianyue raised her eyebrows.
Suddenly, Qin Yuning pulled out a stack of papers from her sleeve and tossed them toward Cloud Qianyue. "Take a look for yourself!"
Cloud Qianyue reached out to catch the papers. She glanced at Qin Yuning's pale face before slowly unfolding them. What she saw were sketches depicting scenes where she was chasing after Prince Night Tianqiong, with his expression full of disdain. Turning to the second page, she noticed that because she had run too quickly and tripped, he had stopped walking to show concern for her safety. On the third page, she watched as Prince Night Tianqiong walked back to help her up when she fell down again, while on the fourth page, she was dusting herself off with a cunning smile towards him. As she flipped through the fifth page, she saw how he had turned around and left in anger but visibly relaxed once he was out of sight, even carrying a hint of a smile that seemed to be unbeknownst to himself…
Cloud Qianyue looked at these pages while recalling that they were likely drawn five or six years ago. As she continued flipping through the remaining sketches depicting various moments between her and Prince Night Tianqiong, she finished reading them shortly after.
Raising her head to look at Qin Yuning, Cloud Qianyue asked, "Why did you give me these drawings To tell me that he had feelings for me I already know this."
Qin Yuning glared coldly at Cloud Qianyue and said in a chilling voice, “Cloud Shallow Moon, my intention was to make you understand that he always had feelings for you. He died because of you; if it weren’t for his love for you, he wouldn’t have died. I want you to remember this: His death is because of you, not me.”
Cloud Qianyue turned her head and smiled at Qin Yuning with a light tone, "Do you feel better after placing the blame on me"
Qin Yuning's face turned cold as she stared at Cloud Qianyue, saying in a frosty voice, “I've never understood what it is about you that makes so many men fall for you. Even if they can't have your love, getting even just one smile from you drives them crazy. In my opinion, there’s not a single woman who is better than you in the world. Cloud Shallow Moon, you are actually very selfish and don’t deserve to be loved."
"Yes, you're right about me being selfish. I don't understand what it is that makes me so lovable either. But how can one change such things They like me, and I am indeed selfish. Even though I'm not worthy of their love, they still adore me," Cloud Qianyue said casually. "But you, on the other hand, you killed your child's father with your own hands; no one will dare to marry you anymore."
Qin Yuning’s face changed as her forehead veins twitched.
"Steward, has the auspicious hour arrived yet If it has, I’ll proceed with sealing the coffin for the Second Prince!" Cloud Qianyue ignored Qin Yuning and asked the steward behind her.
"In response to Miss Qianyue, the auspicious hour has arrived!" The head steward nodded.
"Alright!" Yun Qianyue walked toward the coffin.
"Yun Qianyue, I will depart from the capital tomorrow. I loathe you so much that I wish to never see your face again until my dying day." Qin Yuning threw out her words before stepping away.
Without turning back or looking at her, Yun Qianyue slowly said, "Miss Qin, don't speak too definitively. There might be a chance we'll meet again someday." She added, "Oh, I hope to see you married the next time we meet, bearing the identity of Empress Dowager Shuang of Second Prince. Although you may not mind it, I think that Second Prince would surely disapprove if he were aware."
Qin Yuning suddenly turned around and glared at Yun Qianyue with a look filled with suppressed anger.
Yun Qianyue didn't even glance her way. She pulled off the black cloth covering the coffin.
"Miss Qin, did you come to see Second Brother I believe that he wouldn't wish to see your face and would prefer if you left." Princess Seventh entered from outside and coldly spoke up when she saw Qin Yuning.
Qin Yuning turned around. She gave Princess Seventh a look before suppressing her anger and silently walked away.
"Servant greets Princess Seventh!" The head steward bowed in greeting to Princess Seventh.
Princess Seventh nodded, walked up front, and stood still by the coffin.
Aftr Yun Qianyue removed the black cloth, she looked at the person inside the coffin. Nie Tianqiong’s blood from his face, mouth, neck, and body had been wiped clean. His appearance remained as it was before he died, without distortion. She silently observed for a moment before softly saying, "Nie Tianqiong, I understand now that you like me."
Hearing this, the head steward along with Second Prince's people suddenly began to cry out loud on the ground. They repeatedly said, "Second Prince, did you hear Miss Qianyue says she understands and knows that you like him."
Yun Qianyue felt extremely uncomfortable and gently waved her hand as she lifted a lid from one side of the coffin to place it over the body.
A moment later, she tossed the scroll Qin Yuning had given her into the fire pot. The scroll immediately caught fire and burned fiercely.
"Get me a pen! Since I've closed his coffin, there should be a conclusion. His conclusion should be written by me!" Yun Qianyue instructed the head steward.
"Yes!" The head steward quickly got up from the ground and wiped away the tears on his face to retrieve a pen for her.
Soon after, he brought back the pen and handed it over to Yun Qianyue.
Yun Qianyue held the pen and wrote: "Born with honor, worthy of praise in death."
Princess Seventh looked at the eight characters Yun Qianyue had written and was alarmed. She hurriedly said, "Sister, you can't write this way. Seventh Brother will be furious."
"Then let him be angry!" Yun Qianyue put down her pen and calmly responded, "He was born as the Crown Prince and sat on the throne for twenty years. What is there to say about his honor Before he died, he had grown disillusioned with imperial power and his father’s actions. He took up a sword to end his own life, displaying true manly spirit and courage. How could it be anything but praiseworthy If Nie Tianyi doesn't even have the stomach for these eight characters, then he does not deserve to be the Regent King who holds supreme power over the kingdom."
Princess Seventh no longer spoke after hearing this.
"Prepare for sending off his spirit! I won’t attend it," Yun Qianyue instructed the head steward.
The head steward nodded gratefully with a grateful look on his face.
Yun Qianyue looked at Princess Seventh, "Sister-in-law, what about you Will you come with me or send him off"
"Although Second Brother isn't close to me, he is still my blood-related brother. I’ll see him off; you can leave first." Princess Seventh replied.
Yun Qianyue nodded and didn’t say more as she walked out of the residence.
Sitting in a carriage, Yun Qianyue leaned against it with no strength left. She covered her face with her hand and muttered, "To finally put an end to this for one person. I won't ever do such things again. If anyone else dies before me or asks me to send them off, I'll lose my temper."
As she spoke, a light chuckle came from outside the carriage.
